LittersCabluie had artificial insemination treatments in early January and a litter was birthed March 14! All puppies in this litter have been reserved. Information regarding potential pet ownership costs can be found in these articles: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/lifestyle/how-much-spend-on-dog-in-lifetime/ We would like to add a couple disclaimers about these articles, based on our experiences. Since many dog owners will not need to spend much money on or utilize some of the services (such as dogwalking or boarding) indicated in the charts or articles, their expenses may be far less than the lifetime maximum shown. Also, when acquiring a puppy, we encourage potential families to check with a local breed enthusiasts' club, as they can be an excellent source of nearby responsible breeders. |

Cabluie x Finn Litter Is Home And Thriving! March 16, 2024: We've had a litter! Cabluie (U-CH Watershed Pines' Don't Cablue It) was bred with Finn (Riverstone Goldens AKC pointed U-CH Opk/s Gimmie Some Finn) in early January 2024. We expected a litter in mid-March 2024. Cabluie gave birth on Thursday, March 14, to four healthy pups, two girls and two boys, all by 12:30 pm. In the middle she had a stillborn female, unfortunately, but things got worse. We had to make many calls, wait for callbacks, and have two visits to different emergency vets while we tried to get Cabluie to move the final pup into the birth canal and push out, all over the course of thirty hours. Finally, about lunchtime on Friday, we got the good news that there was no pup inside and no emergency surgery would be needed. We spent the rest of Friday settling Cabluie and the pups in and making sure they were well taken care of after all the chaos and panic, so they can finish the rest of their whelping in calmness and normalcy.
The photos below were taken this morning, showing Cabluie and her pups relaxing and nursing. The pups are Lilac collar and Black collar, females; Teal collar and Brown collar, males. Teal is the largest and particularly noisy and active!
You can see Cabluie was shaved for catheters and ultrasounds; we've assured her the coat will grow back!
All puppies are reserved, so we have no more pups to offer prospective families, unfortunately.
Cabluie and her pups after getting back home and settled in. Cabluie x Finn Litter expected mid-March, 2024!February 25, 2024: Cabluie had artificial insemination treatments in early January, and she's been showing all the signs of preganancy! Based on a 62-day gestation, we are excited to be preparing for a litter to be born mid-March! See info on Finn (NOTE: NOT the same Finn as our Jessie had in 2017, a different unrelated dog!) here: Riverstone Golden Retrievers Finn.
Jessie x Pilot Litter just born, Christmas Eve 2017!March, 2018: The puppies - Cabluie, Daisy Jane, Jolene, Finn, Poppy, Tuck, Rover, and Rooney - have all gone to their forever homes. January 21, 2018: The puppies are all developing nicely, now at four weeks of age. This has been a week of tremendous progress for them. For the past few days we've introduced them to mashed-up puppy food suspended in goat's milk, which they love. We've also begun litter training them, which is a 3-ring circus after they wake up or finish feeding. It's wonderful to see their individual personalities developing, and to witness the way their play increases in time and exuberance. All the pups had a bath this morning as well, before meeting two families for the first time.
Purple Female (left), and Yellow Female (right), Day 25 December 24, 2017: Jessie has just given birth to a healthy litter of 8 puppies! Genders are evenly divided, 4 girls and 4 boys. She is tirelessly caring for and nursing them, and we're helping her out when we're not trying to catch up on our sleep or clean things up in the whelping area. Congratulations to Jessie and her new pups! The pups on their 3-week birthday

Jessie x Ranger Litter, July 2016Saturday, September 24, 2016: Our last puppy, Sam, went home with his new family. It's a bittersweet day, and our poor Jola seems lonely without any of her brothers and sisters to play with. September 3, 2016: Microchips and more! Last week the puppies had their second rounds of vaccines, were microchipped, had their first vet visits, and best of all, four of the pups went home with their new families! The remaining two males are spoken for and one will be going home this coming Sunday. Red, our third female, is still looking for a loving home. August 17, 2016: Shots and so much more! The pups have all had their first round of vaccinations, with a little ice cream, today, and are feeling fine. They have been exploring the backyard for the past couple weeks, going farther and farther afield until they've run out of room. Several have call names and we've been working on recall with those pups especially, but all will come when called and are learning to mand already. They're also nearly housebroken, which is great for us. We've actually been so busy with them that there's been little time for updates... July 16, 2016: The puppies are raring to go! Several of the pups have opened their eyes, and all are scooting around like crazy. They are trying to stand or walk sometimes, and swarm Mom when she comes into the whelping box. We're really noticing individual puppy personalities, some are noisier than others, some are pushier, some like to explore more; practicing the ENS exercises with them, bottle-feeding and lots of other one-on-one interaction seems to really stimulate their development. July 9, 2016: Jessie's litter is doing great! Jessie is a great mother, and we're giving her breaks for "me time." She has an appointment tomorrow for a check-up. The pups are gaining weight; the largest is close to doubling his birth weight! We have been practicing ENS with them, and they are vivacious, active and sometimes a little noisy. July 3,2016: Jessie's litter is born! Jessie gave birth to eight live puppies, five little boys and three little girls. Labor lasted over seven hours; the last two hours were tense. Jessie is taking great care of her pups, and we are helping her 24 hours a day right now. Within the next two days we'll begin practicing ENS with the puppies. |
