Mission Statement

We strive to create the healthiest total package Golden Retrievers; dogs who can compete in conformation in the morning and be out in the field, hunting, in the afternoon. We want our dogs to pass all health tests before breeding and we aim to steer clear of including other lines with high incidences of cancer. Our dogs are beloved family members first and foremost, they are our partners in the ring, and great hunting buddies we can brag about to top it all off.

Special Announcement

We've had a litter!

Cabluie (U-CH Watershed Pines' Don't Cablue It) was bred with Finn (Riverstone Goldens AKC pointed U-CH Opk/s Gimmie Some Finn) in early January 2024. We expected a litter in mid-March 2024.

Cabluie gave birth on Thursday, March 14, to four healthy pups, two girls and two boys, all by 12:30 pm. In the middle she had a stillborn female, unfortunately, but things got worse. We had to make many calls, wait for callbacks, and have two visits to different emergency vets while we tried to get Cabluie to move the final pup into the birth canal and push out, all over the course of thirty hours. Finally, about lunchtime on Friday, we got the good news that there was no pup inside and no emergency surgery would be needed. We spent the rest of Friday settling Cabluie and the pups in and making sure they were well taken care of after all the chaos and panic, so they can finish the rest of their whelping in calmness and normalcy.
The photos below were taken this morning, showing Cabluie and her pups relaxing and nursing. The pups are Lilac collar and Black collar, females; Teal collar and Brown collar, males. Teal is the largest and particularly noisy and active!
You can see Cabluie was shaved for catheters and ultrasounds; we've assured her the coat will grow back!
All puppies are reserved, so we have no more pups to offer prospective families, unfortunately.

Goals In Breeding

Our breeding goals are to breed temperamentally sound dogs with a will to please and a natural ability to hunt. To ensure this we test hips, elbows, eyes, hearts, and receive a CHIC stamp before breeding. Our foundation bitch comes from a line that has had a low incidence of cancer; we hope to instill that vitality in our puppies by carefully selecting dogs with similar reports in their history. Equally important is our goal to create dogs as conformationally-sound as we can; there is no perfect specimen, but we will try to get as near as possible.
